While we have not visited each of these places, we can say there is nothing quite like enjoying a pint at Deacon Brodie’s on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. The pub sits not too far from the location that Brodie was hanged and is in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. History oozes from anywhere on the Royal Mile and there’s no better place to capture the past.
Tucked down Brodie's Close, a few yards off Edinburgh's Royal Mile, resides the place where Deacon Brodie once hung his hat. The Deacon's House Cafe offers breakfast and lunch options at Royal Mile prices. It's definitely worth spending an extra pound to soak up the vibes of the place.
Located in Daredevil’s home of Hell’s Kitchen, this namesake of Deacon Brodie is a stone’s throw from the Theater District. We haven’t been to this location, but why wouldn’t you stop by for a pint if you’re in the city? The picture to the left was taken from the tavern’s Facebook page and looks like a nice place to contemplate the mysteries of the universe.
A trip might be in order to visit Deacon Brodie’s Scottish Pub in Ottawa’s Scottish Quarter. They certainly have the best looking website and logo (featured to the left) of the lot of Brodie Pubs. Their menu and list of beer and liquor looks link passing the evening there would be a treat.
